Psychiatrist website design service for private practice: I build practice websites that show a doctor's identity and licences clearly. They also explain how consultations work, including telepsychiatry within the rules. Patients book through WhatsApp or a form that asks only for what scheduling needs. Every line of text follows the rules on health service advertising and medical ethics. I build each website myself, from Jakarta, as a website engineer and technical lead.
The website is for psychiatrists, specialists in psychiatry, and other specialist doctors in private or group practice. Telemedicine platforms and electronic medical records are not part of the default package. The website links to whichever ones you use. For psychologists, I wrote a separate article, because that profession has its own rules.
In short
- Your name and title, specialty, practice licence (SIP) and registration certificate (STR) numbers, and schedule appear in the profile, as Government Regulation 28/2024 requires of doctors in private practice.
- The text follows Minister of Health Regulation 1787/2010 and medical ethics: no testimonials, no superlatives, no promise of a cure.
- Telepsychiatry is explained as it is, including which medicines cannot be prescribed online.
- The booking form never asks about symptoms. Mental health data belongs in the consulting room.
- Paid once; running costs are the domain, plus a server if you choose one. Free malware cleanup guarantee for 3 months.
- Start here: tell me about your practice through the form on the homepage.
Why do patients need a clear psychiatrist website?
People looking for a psychiatrist search hesitantly, often late at night. Many do not know whether they need a psychiatrist or a psychologist. The Indonesian Health Survey 2023 from the Health Policy Agency found that 1.4 percent of people aged 15 and over had been depressed in the previous two weeks. The same survey put mental health problems, measured with the SRQ-20 questionnaire, at 2 percent.
Psychiatrists are scarce. The Ministry of Health in October 2022 put the ratio at one psychiatrist for every 200,000 people. The WHO benchmark is one per 30,000. Kemenko PMK in December 2023 counted one per 223,587.
With so few psychiatrists, the patients who find you often come from another city or ask about telepsychiatry. A website with a clear schedule and a clear way of working cuts down the back-and-forth messages. It also helps someone who has been hesitating finally get in touch.
Identity and licences that must be shown: SIP, STR, specialty, schedule
Psychiatrist websites I build place the doctor's identity in a profile that is easy to find. It holds the name and title, specialty, practice licence (SIP) number, registration certificate (STR) number, and practice schedule. Those five items are exactly what Article 740 of Government Regulation 28/2024 requires of doctors in private practice.
Article 283 of Law 17/2023 on Health also requires a sole practice to display a clear identity, including the SIP and STR numbers. The same law makes the STR valid for life. An SIP runs for five years and covers one practice location only. A doctor who practises in several places therefore shows an SIP for each.
Google treats mental health as a topic that demands a high level of trust. It sits in the "Your Money or Your Life" category of the Search Quality Rater Guidelines. Complete identity and licence details help patients and search engines alike judge your website.
Health advertising rules and medical ethics: informative, not self-praising
The text on psychiatrist websites I build stays within two fences. The first is Minister of Health Regulation 1787/2010. Publications about health services must be accurate and evidence-based, and must state the name and address of the facility. They must not mislead, draw comparisons, praise the provider excessively, or include testimonials. Health workers are also barred from appearing as advertising models.
The second is the Indonesian Medical Code of Ethics (KODEKI). It asks doctors to refrain from self-praise. It limits practice announcements to name, specialty, address, practice hours, telephone, and SIP number, without persuasion.
Three things usually come out of a doctor's draft: the phrase "the best psychiatrist in town", stories of patients who recovered, and photos of the doctor styled like an advert. What goes in instead: the conditions you treat, described in words that do not frighten, how a consultation works from first message to first appointment, and when a patient is referred to hospital. That reassures people more than any claim. I am not an expert in health law or medical ethics. You review and approve every text before it goes live.
Telepsychiatry and online prescriptions: explained as they are
Many patients ask whether they can consult online and get a prescription without visiting. The websites I build answer honestly. Article 172 of Law 17/2023 on Health opens telemedicine to health care facilities. Article 558 of Government Regulation 28/2024 lists a medical professional's private practice among those allowed to provide it to individuals. The doctor must hold an STR and an SIP. Article 924 of the same regulation allows electronic prescriptions through an integrated system, but excludes narcotics and psychotropic drugs.
For a psychiatrist, that exclusion is decisive. Certain medicines still require a visit in person. Patients feel calmer when they learn that from the website rather than at the end of an online session. The website links to the telepsychiatry platform you use. The platform itself is not part of the default package.
Which sections does a psychiatrist website need?
The sections that help patients decide, written in a calm tone:
- An opening that starts a conversation rather than listing degrees.
- The doctor's profile: name, title, specialty, SIP and STR numbers, schedule, and approach.
- Conditions you treat, written as information, such as sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder.
- How consultations work: in person, telepsychiatry, length, and what happens at the first appointment.
- Medicines and prescriptions: when a visit in person is needed.
- FAQs: the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist, whether BPJS or insurance is accepted, whether a referral is needed.
- Practical details: address, map, hours, and a fee range if you choose to show it.
- A WhatsApp button and a booking form.
Other specialists, such as paediatricians, dermatologists, or internists, use the same structure with content adjusted to their field.
Bookings through WhatsApp and a form that asks for little
The booking form on psychiatrist websites I build asks only for a preferred name, contact details, preferred times, and whether the patient wants to meet in person or online. That is the whole form. Submissions go to the practice email. Anyone who would rather say hello directly presses the WhatsApp button. The form never asks about symptoms, medication history, or earlier diagnoses. Health data, mental health included, is specific personal data under Law 27/2022 on Personal Data Protection. The simplest protection is never asking for it on the website. Less is safer.
I chose this simple flow because it is cheap, safe, and matches how patients already behave. An online booking system with a calendar and automatic confirmations is worth considering only later. The practice needs at least one admin, and requests must have outgrown chat and the form. A group practice with several doctors is the usual example. Such a system costs more to build and maintain. Start simple. I wrote the same reasoning for catalogue stores that take orders via WhatsApp.
Found when people search for a psychiatrist in your city, including through AI
Practice websites I build state the service and location plainly. That way they can be found for searches such as "psychiatrist in Bandung" or "online psychiatrist for anxiety". The content is also structured so that AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity quote it correctly when people ask a machine instead. Practice details are matched to your Google Business Profile. Educational articles you write through the panel, for instance on the difference between ordinary sadness and depression, become extra ways in. They work as long as they inform and promise no outcome.
Speed is targeted to pass Core Web Vitals on phones and laptops, and the site you are reading uses the same approach and scored 94 on Lighthouse mobile on 12 October 2026. Someone who is hesitating closes a slow page before they read a word.
Tracking only when it is needed
If the practice advertises, tracking can record presses of the WhatsApp button or form submissions. It runs from your own ad account and only after the visitor consents. For a mental health practice, I recommend as little tracking as possible. The contents of the form are never sent to an advertising platform. Without ads, there is no tracking at all.
Malware-resistant, with a free 3-month cleanup guarantee
Psychiatrist websites I build are secured to the same standard as this site, which scored A+ on securityheaders.com and Mozilla HTTP Observatory on 12 October 2026. Your own website can be checked with the same tools. I keep the technical details off public pages, because a published list of defences is a map for intruders.
A hacked practice website can show strange links under the doctor's name. For a mental health practice, that undoes trust built slowly. Your website therefore comes with a free malware cleanup guarantee for 3 months from launch, and the guarantee period is stated on the proof of payment. Other packages give 1 to 6 months. During that period the cleanup is done at no extra charge. Malicious code is removed, the website files are restored from the latest backup, and any entry point found in the website I delivered is closed.
Outside the guarantee, cleanup is billed as separate work, and a serious case can run to tens of millions of rupiah. This is a guarantee of service, not of compensation. It does not cover admin negligence, changes made by other parties, or outages at the server or domain provider you chose. Components that fall out of date after the guarantee ends without renewal are also excluded. The details are on the terms page. I can offer this guarantee because cleaning up websites hit by malware is my routine work.
Cost: paid once, cheaper in the years that follow
The build is paid once, in stages, with a written breakdown. Once live, the only recurring cost is the domain, with a server added only if you choose one. A practice website of one or a few pages usually runs without a monthly server. There is no builder subscription whose bill climbs the moment you need a feature.
Support after handover is optional, not required. It covers fixes, updates to website components, and limited help when needed. You or your assistant change the schedule, fees, and articles through the panel. Extra features later, such as a booking calendar, online payment, or a second language version, are built through the same service at a special rate.
Ready to use, in the doctor's name, source code if you need it
The default is a ready-to-use website. The built files live on your practice domain, and the domain and accounts are in your name. You receive a panel for changing content and a handover document. Because the files move to any hosting provider, you are never locked in to me. I covered the risk of a vendor-locked website separately.
The source code, the project files needed to rebuild the website and change its structure, is not included by default. For a doctor's practice this works in your favour. The cost is far lower, the schedule and articles are still yours to manage through the panel, and support applies to the version I delivered. Buying the code makes sense if you have an IT team or plan a large system on your own timetable. That option is priced separately, costs far more, and is sometimes unavailable when the website uses licensed components. Its status is written in the offer.
Why a doctor's practice should not build it with AI, hire an agency with no clear accountability, or use a free hosting template
| Consideration | Building it yourself with AI | An agency with no clear accountability | A free hosting template | Built by an engineer (this service) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ethics and advertising rules | AI writes "best" and testimonials without knowing the rules | Rarely familiar with Regulation 1787 and KODEKI | Testimonial block built in | Text written to the rules, approved by the doctor |
| Patient data in the form | Stored who knows where | Depends | The form asks for too much | Only scheduling data, sent to the practice email |
| Who is accountable | You, between patients | Unclear | Nobody | The same person from start to handover |
| Security | Nobody is watching | Untested | Updated alongside thousands of other sites | Tested with public tools, 3-month cleanup guarantee |
| Ownership | Yours, but only you understand it | Domain sometimes in the agency's name | Tied to the hosting | Domain, accounts, and website in the doctor's name |
| Yearly cost | AI tool and builder subscriptions | Monthly retainer | Free until you need a feature | Domain, plus a server if chosen |
AI can write a practice page in a minute. It does not know that "the best psychiatrist" and patient stories can end in an ethics warning. I wrote about a page built entirely by AI without review in the article on online stores. An agency that will not say who does the work leaves you unsure who holds patients' data. Free hosting templates ship with testimonial and rating blocks, which a doctor's practice has to strip out.
I am not the right choice if you need a telemedicine platform or electronic medical records from day one. Choose a provider for those, and the website simply links to them. A clinic with several doctors and its own facility has different needs, which I cover in the clinic website article.
Who is behind this psychiatrist website design service?
This psychiatrist website design service is run by me, Dicky Ibrohim, website engineer and technical lead. My profile is on the about page. Day to day I build websites and applications, repair broken ones, and clean up those hit by malware. I have handled thousands of cases. I use AI to speed up repetitive work, then test the result myself until the form really lands in the practice email.
I am not a doctor, a health lawyer, or a medical ethicist. Content about conditions, how you work, and the limits of your practice comes from you and is approved by you. Material I supply is licensed; material you supply is warranted by you.
Process: from your practice schedule to launch
- Tell me about your practice through the form on the homepage: specialty, city, consultation format, and whether you practise at more than one location.
- A written offer within one or two business days, covering the type of website, schedule, fees and payment stages, server needs, the malware guarantee period, and the scope of support.
- A short interview: the conditions you treat, how consultations and telepsychiatry work, referral limits, and the questions patients ask most.
- Text and design: I write them to the health advertising rules and medical ethics; you review and approve.
- Preview on phone and laptop: the WhatsApp button and booking form are tested until messages really reach the practice email.
- **Launch and handover: the doctor receives access, ownership documents, and a guide to the panel.
What you need to prepare
- Name and title, specialty, SIP and STR numbers for each practice location, and the schedule.
- The conditions you treat and the consultation formats, including the telepsychiatry platform you use.
- Practice address, WhatsApp number, and the email that receives booking requests.
- A fee range if you want it shown, and BPJS or insurance information.
- Photos of yourself and the consulting room if you are willing; I can prepare supporting illustrations, which are never presented as photos of you.
Eight questions to ask before choosing someone to build a doctor's website
- Is the text written to the health advertising rules and medical ethics? (Yes, and the doctor approves it.)
- Where are the SIP and STR numbers shown? (In the profile, for each practice location.)
- What does the booking form ask for? (Preferred name, contact details, times, format; no symptoms.)
- Who owns the domain and accounts? (The doctor.)
- What happens if malware gets into the website? (I clean it up free of charge while the 3-month guarantee stated on the proof of payment is still running.)
- Which costs recur? (The domain, plus a server if chosen; support is not required.)
- Can the schedule and articles be changed in-house? (Yes, through the panel.)
- Can a booking calendar or a second language version be added later? (Yes, at a special rate.)
First step: tell me about your practice
Patients need two certainties before they send a message: that the doctor is authorised, and that the way in is clear. A website that shows licences, schedule, and how consultations work honestly, with no claims that breach ethics, is what this psychiatrist website design service delivers.
Tell me about your practice through the form on the homepage or email hello@dickyibrohim.com. I reply with the type of website that suits your practice, the cost, and an estimated launch date.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a psychiatrist website cost?
The build fee is paid once, in stages, with a written breakdown. After launch, the running costs are the domain, plus a server only if you choose one; support is optional. The amount depends on the type of website, one page or several, and the features you need. I send it after you tell me about your practice through the form on the homepage.
Is a doctor allowed to have a practice website?
Yes, as long as the content informs and does not praise the doctor. The Indonesian Medical Code of Ethics (KODEKI) asks doctors to refrain from self-praise, and Minister of Health Regulation 1787/2010 bans publications that mislead, use superlatives, or include testimonials. The websites I build contain identity, licences, schedule, and how consultations work, not claims.
What must a private practice doctor's website show?
Article 740 of Government Regulation 28/2024 requires doctors in private practice to state their name and title, specialty, practice licence (SIP) number, registration certificate (STR) number, and practice schedule. The website places them in a profile that is easy to find.
What is the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist, and why explain it on the website?
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor specialising in psychiatry who can diagnose and prescribe medication; a clinical psychologist handles assessment and psychological therapy without medication. Many prospective patients do not know the difference, so the FAQ section explains it and helps them reach the right place.
Can the website cover telepsychiatry and online prescriptions?
The website explains how you run telepsychiatry within the rules and links to the platform you use. Government Regulation 28/2024 excludes narcotics and psychotropic drugs from electronic prescriptions, so the website states honestly that certain medicines require a visit in person.
How do prospective patients book an appointment?
Through a WhatsApp button or a short form that asks for a name, contact details, preferred times, and whether they want to meet in person or online. Submissions are forwarded to the practice email. The form does not ask about symptoms or medication history.
Is prospective patients' data safe?
The form asks only for what scheduling needs. Health data, mental health included, is specific personal data under Law 27/2022, and the safest approach is not to ask for it on the website. The form is protected against spam and includes consent for data use.
Do I receive the source code?
The default is a ready-to-use website: the built files live on your domain, can be moved to any hosting provider, and come with access and a handover document. The source code is a separate option with its own fee and is not always available; its status is written in the offer.
What if the website gets malware?
The practice website comes with a free malware cleanup guarantee for 3 months from launch, as stated on the proof of payment; other packages give 1 to 6 months. The guarantee is a cleanup service, not compensation; the scope and exclusions are on the terms page.
When does a doctor's practice need its own online booking system?
When the practice has at least one admin and appointment requests can no longer be handled through WhatsApp and the form, for example a group practice with several doctors. Such a system costs more to build and maintain, so start simple.
