Article cover about university websites for programme profiles and admissions information.

My university website design service helps institutions connect their public profile, degree programmes, and admissions information in one coherent reference. You work directly with me, Dicky Ibrohim, to decide what to publish, how updates will be handled, and which contact routes prospective students and partners should use.

A university website answers different questions from a school website. A visitor may already have chosen a subject but still need to understand the qualification level, teaching location, or admissions cycle. The links between pages should help them find the right information without suggesting that every programme has the same requirements.

Start with programme information the institution can confirm

A programme page should use the official name, qualification or level, responsible academic unit, and confirmed teaching location. Its description should follow approved materials. If accreditation information is published, the programme identity, source, and validity period must be accurate; an institutional status should not simply be applied to every programme.

For example, two similarly named programmes may operate at different qualification levels or campuses. Visitors need to see that distinction before opening entry requirements. I help organise the relationships between programmes, faculties, and campuses so that readers do not need a staff member's internal knowledge. Unapproved details should not be guessed merely to make a catalogue look complete.

Admissions pages can then explain the cycle, routes, requirements, and fees the institution has chosen to publish. Dates and documents must follow the institution's designated sources. This information is neither a promise of admission nor an eligibility assessment by the website developer. Admissions decisions remain part of the university's own process.

Links can take visitors to an existing application portal, with clear labels explaining their destination. Opening a link does not mean an application has been submitted or accepted. Student portals, academic systems, payments, and admissions integrations require separate scoping; they are not automatically included in this public website service.

Why choose a custom website for your university's structure?

Custom website development is useful when the same information needs to serve several ways of searching. Prospective students might start with a faculty, an area of interest, or the programmes offered at a particular campus. Working with me, you can plan routes that lead to the same programme page, reducing the need to repeat important requirements across pages that may later diverge.

This choice also concerns institutional identity. Suppose a university wants to introduce a new faculty without making it feel disconnected from the main institution. We can discuss shared visual elements, the relationship between faculty pages and the institutional profile, and where to explain programme strengths using real materials. Future development can follow those needs rather than simply adding more cards to the homepage.

I help distinguish what is needed at launch from what can follow. An institution with limited materials might begin with its profile, a programme list, and admissions references; a detailed directory can be scoped separately. Custom development still requires a budget, testing, and maintenance. If the initial requirement is an organisational profile, my article on company profile websites can help you compare a smaller starting scope.

A ready-made platform can also produce a professional website when its structure and editing tools fit. For SaaS, a subscription platform operated by its provider, check the available page limits, editor accounts, languages, and catalogue features. Read the terms governing price or policy changes and feature discontinuation as well. A useful comparison starts with the university's requirements and costs for equivalent scopes, not an assumption that custom development is always cheaper.

Decide who will keep published information aligned

A clear structure needs a clear approach to updates. We can discuss who approves programme profiles, faculty materials, and admissions notices. One outdated date on a linked page can confuse visitors even after the homepage has been updated. The page inventory and information sources therefore need to be considered alongside editing arrangements; an administration panel covering every part of the site is not automatic.

If two languages are used, changes to requirements or admissions cycles need to be checked in both. Programme and qualification names should follow translations approved by the institution. I will not inflate an English title or imply an unconfirmed equivalence between qualifications to make a page sound more impressive.

Data deserves the same care. Programme page statistics are different from applicant documents, student grades, system logs, and administrator access. If analytics are needed, we can first define the measurement question, such as which programme pages attract visits. Access rights, purposes of use, recipients, retention periods, and export options depend on the system, account settings, and privacy policies. A provider’s technical access does not automatically authorise other uses of the data. A public website does not automatically need to store application documents.

Handover planning is useful when staff change or a third-party service changes. GOV.UK's guidance on technical lock-in in the cloud discusses service benefits alongside options for leaving a provider. For your website, possible disruption or provider closure should be considered through the access and materials available, export formats, licences, compatibility, and migration costs. An export of programme descriptions may not produce a complete website that runs elsewhere.

Custom websites can also depend on third-party hosting and analytics. Domain rights, permission to use content, management accounts, and source code are separate matters. In my service, source code is not included by default, may require a separate fee, and may not be available in some cases. These limits need to be clear before choosing maintenance or migration arrangements; I do not promise independence from every provider.

An engineer checks relationships that AI can overlook

AI can generate a convincing programme page while borrowing entry requirements from a different programme or using last year's admissions cycle. Those mistakes may not be visible in the design. Review needs to connect the programme name, qualification level, location, and admissions source, rather than checking sentences in isolation.

My experience as a web engineer and technical lead helps me translate those requirements into a structure and functions that can be reviewed. I use AI with human direction and review. Depending on the agreed scope, work can include checking programme link destinations, language relationships, and routes to the official portal supplied by the institution. The university's team remains responsible for approving academic and admissions facts. You can read about my background before discussing the project.

Generated code needs scrutiny as well: a plausible implementation can still contain bugs or security weaknesses. GitHub's guidance on Copilot inline suggestions asks users to review and validate suggestions; that source describes its own product, not every tool's capabilities. The value of an engineer lies in the decisions and checks agreed for the work, not a claim that AI is useless or people never make mistakes.

Inputs also need care. A published programme profile is different from applicant documents or internal communications. OWASP's guidance on sensitive information disclosure explains the risk; tool policies need to be checked without assuming that all providers use inputs in the same way.

An agent's action risks depend on its permissions. If it can write to a system, a mistake can alter or delete materials, including backups within the same permission boundary. OWASP's discussion of excessive agency supports considering access limits, action review, and recovery. Controls depend on the system's capabilities and the agreed scope, without eliminating every risk. Building independently with AI remains a reasonable option when a team can assess and maintain the result. Working with me, you can decide which checks of programme, admissions cycle, and link relationships belong in the project scope.

Help visitors move between pages without losing context

Once the information relationships are clear, the interface needs to preserve that context as visitors move around. Faculty navigation, programme lists, admissions, and contact links should not change order without a reason that helps the user. W3C's explanation of consistent navigation addresses the relative order of repeated navigation across a set of pages. It supports predictable navigation; it does not prove that an entire website meets WCAG.

I aim for a design that ordinary visitors can understand on phones, laptops, and desktops. Long programme names, campus details, and links to requirements need to remain readable together. Downloadable documents can have titles and cycle information drawn from university materials, so visitors understand their purpose before opening a file.

WhatsApp or email contacts should lead to units that actually handle public enquiries. Partnership and admissions contacts may differ. The website can identify the appropriate route; staff responses and turnaround times remain subject to the university's service arrangements. Forms, user accounts, and document collection are not automatic additions simply because other university websites have them.

Agree on scope, costs, and support after launch

The number of programmes, depth of faculty profiles, languages, document migration, and editing arrangements affect the quotation. Separate development costs from domains, hosting, licences, storage, and selected maintenance. Static websites still use hosting. For subscriptions, compare introductory and renewal prices alongside the terms governing changes and notice. When comparing a lower-priced freelancer or agency, compare equivalent scopes and handover deliverables; price and business structure alone do not determine quality.

Using AI during development does not automatically create an API bill for the website. If the institution requests a feature using a paid AI API, usage and cost monitoring need their own discussion. OWASP's guidance on unbounded consumption describes excessive consumption risks. A budget alert may not stop charges, so the required limits must be assessed for the service being used.

SEO, security, and speed are usually considered within the quoted work. Clear programme titles and page relationships help explain the content, but Google's SEO Starter Guide does not promise indexing. I do not guarantee Google positions, AI recommendations, applicant numbers, or admissions outcomes.

I also have experience handling malware. Website clients may receive a more favourable offer for relevant follow-up help after eligibility, the type of case, scope, and fees have been agreed. New vulnerabilities or access and hosting conditions can lead to reinfection, so maintenance remains necessary. OWASP's discussion of vulnerable and outdated components explains those component risks; it does not make a single cleanup a promise of permanent security.

Bring one programme as a starting point

Prepare the institutional profile, programme list, and one approved programme description. Include the admissions information source, responsible contacts, and the portal address already in use. Photos, logos, and documents need permission for their intended use; unfinished materials can be identified for completion.

We can use that example to discuss page structure, editing needs, and costs. Design and content are reviewed before testing and handover within the agreed scope. Frequently asked questions

What can this university website include?

The scope can cover institutional profiles, programmes, faculties, admissions information, and public contacts. Pages and editing arrangements are defined in the quotation; student portals and academic systems are not automatic features.

Can the website link to an existing application portal?

Yes, links to a portal supplied by the institution can be discussed. A link is not an automatic integration and does not mean an application has been submitted or accepted.

Who confirms programme and admissions information?

The university team approves academic and admissions facts using its designated sources. Website organisation and checks follow the project scope and do not guarantee admission or assess an applicant’s eligibility.

Can staff update every part of the website?

Editor accounts and editable areas depend on the agreement. A panel covering all content is not included by default. Changes in two languages need checking to keep dates, programme terminology, and requirements aligned.

Are source code and migration included in the initial fee?

Source code is not included automatically, may involve a separate fee, and may be unavailable in some cases. Migration depends on access, formats, licences, technology, and compatibility and may require its own budget.
